Today is the coldest day along November until now. The temperature now is reaching -2°C outside. When I got home this evening, it was -1°C and enough to make my hands freeze. Do you know how it felt? It really hurt because my veins got pressed so the peripheral nerves did not like it and tortured me. Well, perhaps I need another gloves that suitable for winter. Oh yeah, winter is coming, but it seems like there will be no snowfall in December because I heard many people said about it. They also said it's because of global warming as of last year that there was no snowfall. I do not know, but it has been snowing in Scandinavia since September.
Whatever about snow, besides my hands, my lip is the most troublesome that it gets injured because of low humidity. The Lip ice or lip balm I brought from Indonesia are not sufficient to moisturize my lip! Also, my shocks, sweater, shoes, and.. I forgot. I need to buy new ones, all in all, to face very cold weather. Since the last days in Indonesia was hot, I could not imagine how cold here in winter, neither you, right? Preparing winter season is the costliest activity. I understand why many people here spend their winter break by visiting tropical zones, they miss sunshines, of course. I turn on the heater in level 5 and sitting beside it but still not feeling warm.
While many people are now leaving their bike in the bike parking spot and choose to go by bus, I still have to take my bike to go to campus. The wind blows freezingly -7°C that you can not imagine how it can slap your face. Luckily I have thermal long shocks which people call it long john. So, only my face directly contact to the freezing air.
It's funny to see the differences in winter clothing style between the native Dutch and the foreigners especially Mediterraneans. Mediterraneans usually cover their body very tightly with very thick clothes while the native Dutch can hold on the cold weather by only wearing a layer of coat without scarf. We foreigners need sweater before wearing coat and scarf and bonnet. :))
Who cares, no one can deny how cold -2°C is. Come here, come on!
