Today, I made a trouble in the road of which I was wrong by
passing through bus way. A bus way here is a bus-special toll way. I was asking
my classmate from Mexico: which the fastest way to get Nijmegen Central Station
from Huygensgebouw is, because her flat is close to campus so I thought that she knew.
She gave me the direction and it was wrong at all. I felt
strange because the way is too narrow to be passed by bus and bike, however,
there is no direction that we, who are riding bike, are not allowed to pass through
there. I was so scared, you know, can you imagine something like there is someone
who rides his motor passing through a toll way? It’s alright to be fined, but
what I was fear of is I was hit by the bus. What I thought along the way was
that how I could be evacuated from that way because I was afraid of crash. I was
going ahead as far as I can until I found the red bike road. Finally.. it was
like finding a mainland after you are lost in the big sea with your little
boat! Well, don’t ever ask about direction to the foreign people, you have to
find the native one unless you get trouble like what happened to me today.
Actually I know the way to go to Nijmegen Centrum from my
campus, but I needed to find an Irakish shop where it sells a halal meat and the
place is near the Central Station. You know, as long as I am here, I never eat
meat if I do not go to Lent where a ‘Pasutri’ invited me to Indonesian student
party. So I was going to Irakish shop because the shop sells chicken which the
size is similar to Indonesian chicken, (at least that is what my friend told me).
You will meet a very big chicken in every shop here. I’m not going to eat that
kind of chicken because I will never be in the mood to eat something like that,
moreover it is not halal. Today I am just feeling bored to be vegetarian. Because
of it, I was almost hit by buses! What an incident!
